Classics IDW Blurr

He is made from the Override GTS from the Cybertron line. It was a great idea but I was about to scrap it a few times.

The chest canopy is made from styrene and built out of four pieces and super glue was used to fill in the gaps and sanded smooth. His gun was made from from Override's regular gun, I just cut the wings assembly off.

His head fin was made from the folded Knife from a 1/100 Strike Gundam and this is by far my favorite part of this custom since it was was the least difficult.

It was just really a task to paint this puppy, A lot of rub issues and everything rubs when changing. Enjoy and comment and question as always

Find the perfect model color match for you customs!!!!

So with the new City Commander Armor coming out which I pre-ordered. I realized I still don't have a ultra Magnus. I've picked a regular classics Optimus prime($5 buck and massive paint wear Woot!!) from the boards that I plan on repaint into Ultra Magnus with a few changes here and there.

I couldn't find the right color off hand to match the light blues on UM, so I did some searching for color matching program.I came across two of them that you would need to find the best match for a model paint across various different lines. Don't worry they are both free and cost nothing.

The first programs is here: http://web.forret.com/tools/color.asp?R=97&G=174&B=242 This program let you type in the (RGB) Red,Blue, and Green values that you can get from pics using the dropper color selecting tool in most Photo manipulating programs like Paint and Photoshop.

For example: Red: 97
Green: 174
Blue: 242

You add these values in and click the "RBG->" button and it will give you a Hex(hexadecimal) notation number. Which I believe are sometimes printed on the side of paint cans and jars.

Example: #61AEF2

You then take this number and go here: http://colors.silicon-dragons.com/
Enter the Hex number and enter it in the "HEX RGB" Input space and click the submit Query button and it should give you a couple different matches. And you can set to find specific types of paint such and or enamels and acrylics.

Niffty little programs!!!

Classics Galvatron

This custom is Heavily inspired by the unbelievably talented Jin Saotome's Galvatron customs.

Cannon: The cannon is my favorite part of this Custom so I will start there. It was built from Gundam parts and a Staples pen body that took about two weeks of hunting to find the perfect one. I put the fin on the back of the cannon give it a G1 feel but also it looks updated like what the recent Classics line is to achieve.

Treads: These came from the shoulder tread of a Leader class TFTM: Brawl. For legs I used the shoulder cannons the originally came with the figure and cut them down and threaded a bolt through the shaved down post and attached the tread. The tread cover came from a weapons upgrade for a gundam and some random Zoids pieces.
Back Foot/Pedal: Is made from once again gundam parts. Actually just the gundam foot and ankle area. The joint that attaches to the body was made a plastic box shapes thing with a handle of a gundam saber fitting perfect through it. I cut the ends of sanded the side so it was flush and had the perfect hinged joint attachment.

Paint apps: I used a combination of both Testors Fanatasy acrylic paints and Gameworkshop paints. It was spray paints a complete flat black and from there most of the colors were then dry brushed on to give him a worn out grim look.

As for this being my first serious custom and kitbash I am ver pleased on how this turned out. Please enjoy and leave any critique and comments. And feel free to ask any questions.
